Statement of Investment Principles

The Trustee has ultimate responsibility for the investments of the Scheme’s assets and is required, under legislation, to prepare and review regularly a Statement of Investment Principles. This Statement, which can be viewed in Documents, sets out the principles governing decisions about the investment of Scheme assets.

Costs and charges

Your pension savings in the Scheme are held and invested in investment funds. Each fund is different depending on:

  • Its aims – one fund may concentrate on growing your pension savings, while another may concentrate on protecting the value of your pension savings
  • Its investment – some funds might choose to invest for long-term growth, while others might aim for stability over the short-term.

The Trustee monitors the Scheme’s funds to ensure they are suitable for the membership. Part of this role includes having to make available to members details of the on-going charges incurred by members in investing in each fund. These details can be found in the Chair’s Statement in Documents.
